Installing from a DVD

This section applies if you have received a DVD from a COMSOL representative.

The COMSOL Installer is a user interface tool that guides you through the installation process. To start the installer:

1	Insert the COMSOL 5.2a DVD into the DVD drive.

2	If the DVD is not mounted automatically by your operating system, use the mount command to mount it.

3	To start the installation, enter the command

sh drivepath/setup

where drivepath  is the mount point of the DVD drive, for example /media/cdrom.

You might have to mount the DVD with the option -o exec if your Linux mounts the DVD without execute options by default.
