This chapter explains how to use the Laminar Flow interface, found under the
Fluid Flow>Single-Phase Flow branch (

) when adding a physics interface. This physics interface is used to model and simulate fluid mechanics for laminar, incompressible fluids. The engineering community often uses the term
CFD,
computational fluid dynamics, to refer to the numerical simulation of fluids.
The optional CFD Module includes support for turbulent flow, non-isothermal flow, multiphase flow, and many other fluid-flow related features.
