The Direct Preconditioner node (
) is an attribute that you can add as a preconditioner. Using a direct solver as a preconditioner makes it possible to solve one of the physics interfaces in a multiphysics model using a direct solver. With this preconditioner you can use a direct solver for one of the smaller fields (an ODE, for instance) and combine it with another more efficient solver for another larger physics problems (a displacement field in 2D or 2D, for instance).
