New Functionality in COMSOL Server

A new Power user permission role has been added, which is an intermediate role between a User and an Administrator. A Power user is a moderator of a set of groups and the members therein. These groups are selected by an Administrator or created by the Power user. A Power user is allowed to see the Monitor, User database, and Preference pages; edit the users in their moderated groups; and shut down the group’s running apps.

A new preference setting, Prelaunched application processes, has been added to the Prelaunching section on the Preferences page. This allows an administrator to manually set the number of prelaunched application processes that should be available for launching applications. The default number of prelaunched application processes is 1.

•	Administrators can change the look and feel of COMSOL Server via a new Appearance section, found under Administration. Available customizations include colors for backgrounds and text, logos, login screen content, and custom HTML.

Administrators and group moderators can now select an application to launch on login based on the group. There is also the ability to override the global launch on login settings. It is possible to select an app that is different from the global app to launch on login by group or disable launching on login for a specific group.

•	The Monitor page has been improved with the possibility to show and hide parts of the information.

•	There are general look-and-feel improvements to the COMSOL Server user interface.
