Use a Mapped System (

) to create a coordinate system that defines a mapping from the frame coordinate system.
The Frame list is the same as for the
Cylindrical System.
In the Coordinate names table, the default names are entered—
x1,
x2, and
x3. In planar 2D models,
x1 and
x2 are typically the in-plane coordinates, and
x3 is the out-of-plane coordinate. The labels for each coordinate name—
First,
Second, and
Third—include the default name in parentheses.
Under Coordinate mapping, the
Coordinate column displays the
Coordinate names with the
Expression column displaying the associated mapped coordinate.
If required, select the Assume orthonormal check box. The program then uses the assumption that the settings define an orthonormal coordinate system.
