New and Updated Models in Version 5.2a
Rolling Contact Fatigue in a Linear Guide
A rolling load initiates spalling on the rail raceway of a linear guide. The Dang Van model is used to simulate the rolling contact fatigue. This new model demonstrates how to efficiently mesh when modeling applications where high compressive loads are transferred through a small contact area.
Standing Contact Fatigue
In this new example, a surface-hardened material is subjected to standing contact fatigue. As a result, both the material properties and the residual stress vary through the depth. The fatigue prediction is based on the Dang Van model.
Fatigue Analysis of a Non-Proportionally Loaded Shaft with a Fillet
This example has been extended with the fatigue prediction based on the Dang Van model. The differences between the results of the three stress-based models, Findley, Matake, and Dang Van, are discussed.
Bracket – Fatigue Evaluation
The fatigue evaluation of the tutorial bracket model is extended with a parametric study. The model demonstrates how to perform a parametric study of a fatigue analysis.
